I received a free Kindle copy of this book courtesy of Net Galley and Random House, the publisher. It was with the understanding that I would post a review on Net Galley, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads and my review blog. In addition I have posted it to my Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google Plus pages.
I requested this book because I am an avid science fiction reader and the description sounded very intriguing. It is the first book by Rhett C. Bruno that I have read.
I found this book to be engaging and entertaining. It was difficult to put down. While it incorporated several classic science fiction themes (bounty hunter, colonizing other planets/moons, differing cultures due to separation, big corporations running everything, revolution, etc.), the author was able to make them fresh and unpredictable right up to the end. While this book can easily be a stand alone effort, Bruno also set up the ending perfectly for a follow-up novel if he chooses to do so. I am not going to delve in the actual plot as I do not want to spoil it for anyone who has not read the book.
I strongly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in science fiction that is looking for a new author who has a real knack for telling the story.
